Initial Heating Settings

Initial Heating (Untested)Air Oven160°C / 20min

Check for pieces flying about and for browning every 5 minutes, and turn the food over after 10 minutes.

This is the cooking time for the first round. Please refer to the instructions for preheating. You’ll need to check for doneness and cook further as needed.

You’ll need to ensure that the slices are uniform in thickness and area. The total time required to complete the recipe—including preparation, checking progress, and cooking in batches—has not been measured.

Check Before Cooking
  • Use pieces that are 5mm thick, at least 5cm long, and at least 3cm wide, cut on the diagonal. Do not use pieces with thin tips, extremely thin slices, or broken pieces.
  • Install the inner rack in the correct orientation and arrange the food in a single layer with space between each piece. If the entire quantity does not fit, divide it into 2 or more batches, checking the results after each batch. The basket’s 3L capacity does not guarantee that it can hold the weight of this recipe.
  • Arrange the food in the basket without lining it with paper or aluminum foil, and make sure not to block the steam vents. Lightly coat the food with oil; do not let it pool in the basket.
  • These are test conditions in which refrigerated main ingredients are heated immediately after preparation, without preheating. Frozen items are not included.
  • Additional cooking and cooking batch 2 start with the interior already warm, so the same results as the initial batch are not guaranteed. Do not increase the quantity and extend the cooking time proportionally.
  • As the slices dry, the slices may shift due to the hot air. Do not leave the area while cooking. If the slices float, fly out, or come loose from the inner mesh, stop the process immediately and do not resume using this method. Do not place weights or paper on top afterward to hold them down. If you notice smoke or a burning smell, unplug the unit and discontinue use.
  • Keep continuous use—including additional heating and cooking in batches—to less than 180 minutes. When using the appliance continuously, follow the instruction manual and allow the unit to cool completely before resuming use.

  1. 01

    Making Large Slices

Wash and peel a thick, refrigerated carrot. Cut it diagonally into slices that are 5mm thick, at least 5cm long, and at least 3cm wide, then weigh out 120g of the slices. Set aside the thinner ends for another dish.

  2. 02

    Brush with oil and arrange

Wipe the moisture off the slices and lightly brush both sides with 4g of rice bran oil. Arrange them on the correctly fitted inner rack without overlapping, leaving space between them. If they don’t all fit, divide them into 2 or more batches.

  3. 03

    Check during cooking at 160℃

Set the Air Oven to 160℃ for 20 minutes without preheating. Pause every 5 minutes to check the color and placement, and flip the food after 10 minutes. If the food floats or flies out, stop the cycle and do not resume using this method. Do not add paper or weights.

  4. 04

Decide whether to add more based on the firmness of the center

After 20 minutes, insert a bamboo skewer into a thick slice. Only if it is still firm, shows no signs of burning or pieces flying about, and retains its weight should you set the Air Oven to 160℃ for 5 minutes; manually stop it after 1〜2 minutes to check. Do not continue heating just to dry the edges.

  5. 05

    Season on the plate

Spread the heated slices on a plate, mix 0.6g of salt and 0.1g of cumin, and sprinkle the mixture over them. Do not sprinkle the seasoning mixture inside the air fryer; let the slices cool to a safe eating temperature.

Check the results

Stop cooking once the center is no longer hard. Since the slices are 5mm thick, they may retain some softness, and we cannot guarantee a texture similar to fried chips. The flavor, texture, and any additional cooking time required have not been verified using an actual air fryer.

If you get stuck along the way

Even if the thickness is the same, only the edges curl

The surface area varies depending on the thickness of the root and the angle at which it is cut. Do not mix in small pieces, and next time, be sure to check the specified width and length as well.

Cumin clumps together in one spot

Mix with salt, then spread it out on a plate. Do not sprinkle additional powder during heating to enhance the aroma.

How the Recipes Were Created and Sources Consulted

These are original recipes created using AI on Crisp. They are not listed as official manufacturer recipes or recipes that have been verified using actual devices.

Standards verified in official documents
Specifications: The Air Oven uses hot-air heating. The user manual states that food should not come into contact with the heating element.
Independently designed details and unverified points
The RAO-3 standard for carrot chips has not been verified. The 5mm diagonal slices, temperature, monitoring intervals, and post-cooking seasoning have been newly designed. The quantities, thickness, initial state, temperature, initial cooking time, and additional monitoring are uncooked prototype conditions proposed exclusively by Crisp.

The manual states that a short press of TIME changes the setting by 5 minutes, while its cooking references also include times such as 18 minutes. Since actual device increments are unverified, this page uses initial settings in 5-minute increments and distinguishes them from elapsed checking times. Omitting alcohol is an independent prototype policy.
