Initial Heating Settings

Initial Heating (Untested)Air Oven175°C / 20min

Flip after 10 minutes, and check the center and the inside of the skin after 20 minutes.

This is the cooking time for the first round. Please refer to the instructions for preheating. You’ll need to check for doneness and cook further as needed.

You’ll need to remove the seeds and cut the fruit into pieces. The total time required to complete this recipe—including preparation, checking progress, and cooking in batches—has not been measured.

Check Before Cooking
  • Cut the pumpkin into thin wedges that are 8mm thick and 5〜6cm long. Thinly shave off any hard parts of the skin to ensure the wedges are uniform in thickness.
  • Install the inner rack in the correct orientation and arrange the food in a single layer with space between each piece. If the entire quantity does not fit, divide it into 2 or more batches, checking the results after each batch. The basket’s 3L capacity does not guarantee that it can hold the weight of this recipe.
  • Arrange the food in the basket without lining it with paper or aluminum foil, and make sure not to block the steam vents. Lightly coat the food with oil; do not let it pool in the basket.
  • These are test conditions in which refrigerated main ingredients are heated immediately after preparation, without preheating. Frozen items are not included.
  • Additional cooking and cooking batch 2 start with the interior already warm, so the same results as the initial batch are not guaranteed. Do not increase the quantity and extend the cooking time proportionally.
  • Keep continuous use—including additional heating and cooking in batches—to less than 180 minutes. When using the appliance continuously, follow the instruction manual and allow the unit to cool completely before resuming use.

  1. 01

    Cut to uniform thickness

Remove the seeds and pulp from the refrigerated pumpkin and measure out 220g of net weight. On a stable cutting board, slice it into 8mm-thick pieces, then cut the longer slices into 5〜6cm lengths. Do not force yourself to cut a whole pumpkin that is difficult to slice; instead, use pre-sliced pumpkin.

  2. 02

    Toss with oil and salt

In a bowl, toss the pumpkin slices with 6g of olive oil and 1g of salt until evenly coated. Install the inner rack correctly, lay the slices flat on their sides, and arrange them so they do not overlap. Divide any slices that do not fit into the basket into separate batches.

  3. 03

    Heat to 175℃

Start without preheating the Air Oven at 175℃ for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, pause the cycle, be careful of the steam, pull the basket out, and flip the food over. Return the basket to the oven and resume cooking.

  4. 04

Check the area near the skin as well.

After 20 minutes, insert a bamboo skewer into the center of a large slice and just inside the skin. If it’s still hard, set the Air Oven to 175℃ for 5 minutes, then stop it manually after 2〜3 minutes to check again. If the edges start to turn black, do not extend the cooking time at this temperature.

    Plate Without Crumbling

Once cooked all the way through, use tongs and a spatula to support and remove the food. Sprinkle with 0.1g of black pepper, let it cool slightly, and enjoy. Do not sprinkle dried leaves or powder inside the air fryer as a finishing touch.

Check the results

Stop cooking once there is no longer any resistance—even in the center and just beneath the skin. Softer varieties tend to fall apart easily, and the degree of fluffiness has not been verified. The flavor, texture, and any additional cooking time required have not been confirmed using the actual appliance.

If you get stuck along the way

Only the tip gets burnt

Next time, I’ll use the parts that maintain a thickness of 8mm, excluding the very thin, pointed sections. Instead of extending the total cooking time uniformly, I’ll remove the slices as they become cooked.

It may break if flipped over.

Support the food with a wide spatula. Oil and temperature alone may not be enough to prevent the food from falling apart due to its inherent nature.

How the Recipes Were Created and Sources Consulted

Standards verified in official documents
Specifications: Air Oven 80〜200℃. Related official steamed vegetable recipes include “Hi Steam” at 120℃ for 20 minutes, featuring 8mm-thick pumpkin slices.
Independently designed details and unverified points
The official “Asian Steamed Veggies” recipe calls for a mixed vegetable blend, including 8mm-thick pumpkin slices, cooked using the Hi Steam setting at 120℃ for 20 minutes. Since this recipe involves baking only 220g of pumpkin in the Air Oven at 175℃, it is distinct from the original steaming method. The quantities, thickness, initial state, temperature, initial cooking time, and additional checks are uncooked prototype conditions proposed independently by Crisp.

The manual states that a short press of TIME changes the setting by 5 minutes, while its cooking references also include times such as 18 minutes. Since actual device increments are unverified, this page uses initial settings in 5-minute increments and distinguishes them from elapsed checking times. Omitting alcohol is an independent prototype policy.
