Initial Heating Settings

First HeatingAir Oven190°C / 15min

After 10 minutes, stop heating and check for cracks in the coating, leaking filling or burning. Using tongs, flip the pieces with no problems 1 time only and resume the remaining time. Do not return cracked pieces or pieces starting to burn, and do not eat them. When the set time ends, split 1 croquette open to check the center; if it does not meet the completion conditions, do not add time and go to the final check step.

Instructions for preheating, mid-cooking checks, and how to check for doneness are included in the preparation instructions.

Keep frozen until just before cooking. Do not thaw, cut into portions or heat separately.

Check Before Cooking
  • Use only commercially available frozen potato croquettes that are pre-cooked and pre-fried, and whose packaging indicates they can be reheated in an oven or air fryer. Use 2 croquettes: 1 piece weighs 65g and is no more than 30mm thick, for a total of 130g. Use them frozen; do not substitute uncooked products, cream croquettes or products whose label does not confirm they are pre-cooked.
  • Fit the inner rack in the correct orientation while the appliance is cold. Use Air Oven without preheating. Do not switch to a mode that uses water.
  • Stay beside the air fryer during cooking and keep the intake and exhaust vents clear. If there is smoke, a burning smell or anything abnormal, stop heating and discontinue use according to the manual.
  • Limit continuous use to less than 180 minutes, and wait until the unit has cooled completely before cooking again.
  • Arrange 2 pieces in a single layer with gaps, and before heating check that they are below the MAX line and do not block ventilation holes. If they do not fit, do not start; check the product's cooking label or official instructions for the same model for a method matching the amount, number and maximum thickness. Do not split into batches while keeping the original time or scale time by weight or capacity.
  • Do not use additional containers, aluminum foil, or parchment paper. Lightly coat both sides of the 2 pieces with 3g of rice bran oil, taking care not to create pools of oil.

    Check product labels and quantities/thicknesses

Check the product label to confirm that these are pre-cooked, oil-fried potato croquettes and that they can be reheated in an oven or air fryer. Verify that 2 frozen croquettes weigh a total of 130g, that 1 piece weighs 65g, and that the maximum thickness including the breading is 30mm. Brush off any large frost crystals. Lightly brush 3g of rice bran oil onto both sides of the 2 croquettes without leaving pools of oil. Do not proceed with products that have different specifications.

Verify that 2 frozen pieces total 130g, that 1 piece weighs 65g, and that the maximum thickness is 30mm.

Place 2 pieces in a single layer, leaving space between them

Place 2 croquettes on the inner basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. Do not use paper, foil, or containers, and do not block the ventilation holes.

Cook and flip exactly 1 time partway through

Select the initial heating setting on the Air Oven and press START/STOP to begin. After the specified elapsed time, press START/STOP to pause, then place the basket on a trivet. Using tongs, flip suitable items 1 time only if the coating is intact, the contents have not leaked and there is no burning. Do not return any items with cracked coating or signs of burning. After the cycle ends, confirm that the appliance has stopped.

Cut 1 open to check the center

When the set time is up, stop cooking, transfer 1 croquette to a clean plate and split it open with a fork. Check that it is hot all the way to the center, with no frozen, cold or hard spots, and that the potato filling is smooth and evenly heated. Do not judge doneness by the color of the coating alone; if the criteria are not met, do not eat either of the 2 croquettes and proceed to the final check.

Cut 1 open to check that there are no cold or hard spots and that it is hot all the way to the center.

Be careful not to burn yourself when plating.

Once the recipe is done, check that the rest is hot all the way through and transfer it to a clean plate. Since the contents and steam are hot, do not eat it immediately after cutting it open; wait until it has cooled to a safe eating temperature.

What to check if the food is not yet done

Stop heating without adding time. Check the product name, cooking label, number, weight, thickness and starting state, as well as actual total heating time, time out of the appliance, and the condition of the coating and center. Confirm a matching method in the product's cooking label or official instructions for the same model. Do not eat until you can confirm that the doneness conditions have been met. If you cannot confirm a matching method, do not add heating based on guesswork.

Check the results

Cut 1 open and check that it is hot all the way to the center, with no frozen or hard spots, and that the inside of the potato is evenly heated. Do not judge based on the color of the coating alone. If these conditions are not met, do not eat it; proceed to the final verification step.

Things You Can Verify Without Consulting Anyone →

If you get stuck along the way

Can I use any kind of frozen croquette?

Do not use this setting. It applies only to pre-cooked, pre-fried potato croquettes whose product label confirms they can be reheated in an oven or air fryer. Do not use it for uncooked products, products that specify frying in oil only, cream croquettes, or products where 1 piece weighs more than 65g or exceeds a maximum thickness of 30mm.

Should I thaw it before adding it?

Use the product while still frozen. Keep it in the freezer until just before cooking, and simply brush off any large frost crystals from the surface. Do not use these settings for thawed or refrozen products.

What should I do if the batter cracks or the filling comes out?

Remove the item from the air fryer, and if any oil or contents appear likely to come into contact with the heating element or ventilation openings, stop heating. Check the rest of the food for cracks or burning; if you notice any unusual odors, smoke, or error indicators, stop use and follow the instructions in the user manual.

What if the product labeling or quantities differ?

This recipe does not apply. Do not ignore the label and merely match the time or scale by number or weight. Check the product's cooking label or official instructions for the same model for a method matching the product name, stated cooking method, weight of 1 piece and maximum thickness.

Approximately 200g of frozen potatoes, Air Oven, 190℃, 13〜15 minutes. Frozen foods that can be cooked in an oven or in oil can be cooked using this product (p. 20).
Independently designed details and unverified points
The manual's table has no croquettes, so this compares them with the example for the same kind of pre-fried frozen potato product: the temperature is the same 190℃, and the first setting is the top of the range, 15 minutes. 2 croquettes with 1 piece weighing 65g and a maximum thickness of 30mm or less, 3g of rice oil, flipping at 10 minutes, and the completion condition of splitting a croquette open to check the center are Crisp's own design. Each 1 croquette is thicker than frozen potatoes but the total amount is smaller, so the time stays within the range and doneness is judged by checking the center. No extra heating beyond the range is used.

The initial setting is in 5-minute increments. Check the progress based on the elapsed time since heating began; do not use the check time as the unit’s set time.
